My work takes a joint-first approach. It’s common in strength training, injury rehab, and physical therapy practices to hear the phrase "strengthen your muscles to support your joints”. While I certainly believe in having strong muscles, I believe even more in building strong joint tissue!
Joints can and should be strengthened directly, using very specific exercises and inputs, that unfortunately, most trainers, therapists, athletes, and gym-goers simply don’t know about.
If you find yourself consistently hitting a wall with pain, injuries, or plateaus, and haven’t been able to use “better form” to cue your way out of the situation, it’s very likely that you have deeper joint restrictions getting in the way.
If you want to know more about how to treat and train your joint restrictions, contact me to schedule your introductory session!
